Pamela S. Angelle

Professor, Director of Graduate Studies

Pamela Angelle is Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Tennessee. Angelle teaches courses at the doctoral level in the EdD Educational Leadership Program and the PhD in Higher Education Administration as well as the PhD in Leadership Studies. At the graduate level, she teaches research methods, leadership theory, organizational theory, mixed methods research, and academic writing. Prior to accepting a position at the University of Tennessee, Angelle worked as a School Improvement Coordinator for the Louisiana Department of Education.

Professional Service

Angelle serves on the UCEA Center for International Study of School Leadership Advisor Board. She is Co-Director of the Social Justice Leadership Strand of the International School Leaders Development Network (www.isldn.weebly.com) and has served as co-convener and program co-chair of the annual conference since 2014. She serves on the editorial board of Management in Education Journal and Research in Educational Administration and Leadership Journal. Her service to the University of Tennessee includes membership on the University Residency Appeals Committee, the College Curriculum Review Committee, and the College of Education Mentoring Committee.

Research

Angelle’s research expertise includes teacher leadership, international comparative studies in school leadership, and organizational constructs which support effective schooling. Her research has been presented both nationally and internationally. Her most recent edited books are A Global Perspective of Social Justice Leadership for School Principals and Cultures of Social Justice Leadership: An Intercultural Context of Schools.
